Appointment no show becomes an opportunity to increase our efficiency

We were excited this past week because at the beginning of the week we had 10 scheduled appointments with nonmembers.

It turned out that three of those appointments ended up being no shows or the appointment was rescheduled.

On Wednesday were attending District meeting in a neighboring city about one hour away, but had an appointment to meet with someone about three o’clock in the afternoon when we got back into town. This person had texted me during our meeting that something had come up and he would not be able to meet with us. I don’t get a lot of text messages, and I neglected to notice his text. So we went to his house and he was not there. We were puzzled by this because we thought we had a good visit with him the week prior. I called him on the phone and left a message to see if there was any confusion as to when we were to meet. He later texted me again and said “didn’t you get my earlier text message. I felt bad that I had missed his earlier message and apologized. As I texted him back trying to set up another appointment, he said that he was talking on the phone with the person we had met with the previous night who is his friend and this friend suggested to him that he come over to his house on the following Tuesday night as we will be returning there for our next appointment. I told him that will work. So now we will be having a discussion with three rather than two just two. I figured that would be a more efficient approach.
