Soup Supper at the Mound City Christian Church

As we drove through town last week we saw signs announcing a Soup Supper at the Mound City Christian Church. I mentioned to Sister Anderson that I thought we should go. Since the signs were posted along Main Street, I figured they must be inviting anyone who wanted to come. Just to be sure we called some neighbors who belong to that Church and asked for some information about the Soup Supper. She said anyone could come and they were collecting free will donations at the event. It may be one of their fund raisers for the year. I am not sure if these churches practice tithing? They always seem to be having bake sales and craft shows to raise money for their churches.  We attended the Soup Supper and gave a donation. After we had our soup dished up we started looking for a table and saw our Baptist friends sitting in the back of the hall waiving to us. We visited with them and met several new people that evening but not as many as we had hoped.
