One Of Our Favorite People Out Here Came To Church And Stayed The Second Hour For The First Time.
One
of the Sisters in the branch who has become a dear friend is the matriarch of a
fairly large family. All of the members of this family that we have met are
very good-looking people with fun personalities and many talents. In that
respect, they must have inherited those attributes from this sister. This
sister’s husband passed away several years ago and she is doing her best to assist
this family in doing those things that would bring them happiness. While
everybody seems to experience challenges in this life, those challenges are
much more difficult without the knowledge of the gospel and the blessings that
come with trying to live the gospel. This sister who is doing what she can to
help her family has one daughter and her family who are members and enjoying
the blessings of the gospel, but that daughter and her family all live out
west. So this sister does not have
church member family support out here. We have tried to provide some of that support.
The family members that we have met out here, are all attractive and bright with
fun personalities, but each one seems to be experiencing significant
challenges. One daughter has major health issues and a rebellious son. Other grandchildren who live with this
sister are going through some challenges. This matriarch sister who has become
a good friend has started coming to church even though she has been
experiencing health problems. So since she often does not feel well, she has
only stayed for sacrament meeting. Last week she came to church and stayed the
second hour and attended our Gospel Principles class. This grand lady has a
very fun personality and has shared some touching stories with us about her
family. We continue to pray for her and
her family. I believe she is growing in faith and we are hoping she will accept
an invitation to prepare to go to the temple.
