When we first arrived in
the mission field and met with our mission president he suggested to us that we
could take off to visit Church history sites. He suggested that we could even
go to Nauvoo which is outside of the mission, but if we chose to do so, we
should make him aware of it.
With our family coming
to visit, we notified the Mission President and he said enjoy the sites, but
most of all enjoy your family. So we did just that.
Jerek and Holly and the grandchildren arrived late Tuesday night and we drove up to Kansas City to meet
them on Wednesday morning. We visited Far West and Adam-ondi-Ahman on the way
to Nauvoo. We had a wonderful time in Nauvoo and gained a much greater
appreciation for all the early saints went through and our pioneer
heritage. Jerek and Holly and family
went on to Winter Quarters and we stayed and went to the Nauvoo temple. We then
met up again on Saturday evening in Mound City, they stayed with us and we
attended church together and spent Sunday together. It was all very special, we
continue to be very pleased with each of our children, in-laws, and
grandchildren and their efforts to live good and worthy lives.
