Attended A Coaches Pitch Game

Last Monday evening we were invited to attend the baseball game of a daughter of one of our investigator families. This family is going through some difficult times right now as the husband and wife are separated. This happened shortly after the husband and wife agreed to a baptismal date. Sister Anderson and I have become attached to the family, which seems to be what happens when we meet people, get to know them, and pray for their welfare a daily basis. They are a neat family going through some difficult challenges. Even though it was a hot evening, we wanted to support the daughter, and so we traveled to the neighboring town to watch her game. We get there and it turns out the mayor of the town who we have met with and recently attended his daughter’s wedding, is the coach. In coaches pitch baseball, the coach pitches the ball to his own team members. So we were able to visit with the mayor and his wife as well as watch the daughter of our investigators play. It is interesting, the area in which we serve there are just small towns and everyone knows everyone in these small towns.
