Attended a Zone Conference

Our Mission President shared a talk in our Zone conference by President Uchtdorf that was given to mission presidents during their training. He talked about the time Peter denied Christ three times and then about Peter after the resurrection and the great apostle and prophet that he became.  He challenged us to think about what kind of missionaries and to look for ways we can improve. He also shared a story about an Elder Strong and Elder Green (fictitious names) but the story taught much about becoming better companions and better missionaries.

We were then asked these questions and asked to do some introspection and think about our own standing

1^st question

Which Peter are you and why?

I wrote: I don’t think I could ever deny the Savior, (of course Peter thought the same). I do think I could do a better job of testifying of the Savior.  I need to work to see the risen Lord as Peter did.

2^nd question

In my companionship am I the solution or the problem?
I wrote: I think we are both becoming the solution. I am learning a lot about myself and my companion on the mission.  The Lord is teaching us those things he wants us to learn. The mission has really helped in that respect.

3^rd question

Am I Elder Strong or Elder Green?

I wrote: I am learning and believe I am becoming a better missionary, some things I wish I had learned earlier. But that is the purpose of Life to learn to become like our Savior.

4^th question

What changes am I going to make?

I wrote: I need to remember this is the Lord’s work, he will open the way. I need to do a better job of engaging people by asking inspired questions. I am continually amazed at little things we are prompted to do and it has allowed us to meet many good and interesting people.
