I am so grateful for the revealed doctrine of the restored gospel.

We continue to meet each week with our good protestant friend. I believe I enjoy talking to him as much as anybody we have met out here. I like him as a person, he has high values and tries to live by the light he has. He talked about how he dislikes being in environments where people are using the Lord’s name in vain. In this day and age it is just a part of a lot of people’s vocabulary and if you brought it up to them, they would have no clue what you were talking about. This good friend has shared with us web sites of a variety of protestant authorities where they profess what they believe. I continue to be convinced that much of what they teach is not biblical; unfortunately much of what they teach is based on the creeds developed by councils hundreds of years after Christ. I know, that is why this period of time is called the great apostasy!.

This past week in our discussion we talked about the importance of knowing God and having a correct understanding of who God is as well as his son Jesus Christ and what is meant by.

·         John 17:3

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Our good friend tends to believe in the doctrine of the trinity. To me if God the Father and his son Jesus Christ are of one substance then when Christ prays to his father, is he praying to his own Substance?

And when God the Father allowed his only begotten son to willingly die on the cross for our sins, is it truly a free will offering of the son if he is of the fathers substance?

I am grateful for the knowledge we have of God the Father and his son Jesus Christ

I have posted several talks from General Authorities and an article from someone not of our faith on this subject.
