Sister Anderson Invites Us Over To The Neighbors

Even though we are on the mission, Sister Anderson expects that we will still have a Friday night date. There is not much to do in Mound City, so, on a number of occasions, we have planned social evenings with members of the branch. There is a part member couple that we have become good friends and we plan Friday evenings with them on occasion. There is also another couple that are relatively new members, who we often socialize with on Fridays. However last Friday we had nothing going on. We have gotten to know many of the neighbors from activities at the clubhouse. On Wednesdays they play card games at the clubhouse. On most Wednesdays we have meetings, however once a month we are free on Wednesdays and so Sister Anderson participates in the games as a means of fellow-shipping these nonmember friends. Usually I have somebody that I have agreed to do a family history fan chart for, so I typically spend that time doing family history. On occasion, I have asked Sister Anderson if any of those people are any closer to hearing the message of the restored gospel. While many of the people in this area go to Church, many of them are still pretty leery of Mormons. Well last Friday, Sister Anderson called one of these neighbors and suggested we socialize together for our Friday night date. The husband was watching a ball game, but they agreed and we had an enjoyable evening with them. I told Sister Anderson her fellowshipping is paying off, even though it may seem slow at times.
