Over the holidays several of
the churches in town held bake sales and one held a craft and bake sale. I thought that may give us an opportunity to
meet some more people. The Methodist Church held a craft sale so we
decided to check that out. Sister
Anderson purchased a little clasp to repair a necklace. Then we noticed the Mound City Christian
Church was having a bake sale one day when we were driving up north and needed
to pack a lunch so we purchased some cookies for our lunch. Then the week before
Christmas we were talking to our friend who does the Elementary School reading
buddies with us. She mentioned that her church, Catholic was having a bake sale
and everybody was asking for her famous cinnamon rolls. She was going home to bake them and so early
the next morning on the way to the fitness center we purchase some of her
cinnamon rolls. I am sure those cinnamon rolls more than added any calories we
burnt off at the fitness center that day, but they were good. That did get us into three of the churches in
town and gave us a little exposure.
Several of the people we met spoke of people in their church who had met
us. So we know that we are being talked
about a little, hopefully some of it is good.
