Turtles in the backyard

Another little bit of the wildlife we see here in the Kansas countryside is turtles. We at times see them crossing the road and we sometimes wait for them, but usually drive around them.  Well last week when I pulled in to our house I saw one crossing the back lawn.  So I caught him and brought him in the house for a photo shoot. 

I saw him walking across the back yard so I figured he must live in the neighborhood so I invited him in.

There we finally got his attention so we thought we would share the gospel with him.

Eight scriptures tell us to preach the gospel to every creature

Mark 16:15

• 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

• Doctrine and Covenants 112:28

  28 But purify your hearts before me; and then go ye into all the world, and preach my gospel unto every creature who has not received it;

• Mormon 9:22

  22 For behold, thus said Jesus Christ, the Son of God, unto his disciples who should tarry, yea, and also to all his disciples, in the hearing of the multitude: Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature;

• Doctrine and Covenants 68:8

  8 Go ye into all the world, preach the gospel to every creature, acting in the authority which I have given you, baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

• Doctrine and Covenants 80:1

  1 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you my servant Stephen Burnett: Go ye, go ye into the world and preach the gospel to every creature that cometh under the sound of your voice.

• Doctrine and Covenants 18:28

  28 And if they desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart, they are called to go into all the world to preach my gospel unto every creature.

• Doctrine and Covenants 58:64

  64 For, verily, the sound must go forth from this place into all the world, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth—the gospel must be preached unto every creature, with signs following them that believe.

• Colossians 1:23

  23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
