I had called a Nursing Home today where we offered to do some volunteer work and the person that
returned the call left a message saying, "Hi Reverend Anderson."
I am still getting a little chuckle out of that. I haven’t erased the message from my phone yet, since I am still trying to decide if I should just assume this new Title.

Speaking of titles - most
of the time now, I introduce myself as Elder Anderson, and of course, that is what
it says on my name tag. Many of the people we have met here in Mound City
belong to the Mound City Christian Church. So of course, I am curious about what
they believe. I pull up their website and they have a page that lists their
basic beliefs. What caught my attention was the last statement in their list of
beliefs stated the following:
We believe the Bible
teaches that the Elders are the leaders of the local congregation (Acts 20:28; Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter
5:1-4)
So when these people see "Elder" on my
badge - they may be mistakenly thinking I am the leader of our local
Congregation.
