We Had 4 Investigators At Church On Sunday

The elders found a new investigator named Teresa who came to the Baptism on Saturday. Sister Anderson and I actually drove to the neighboring town and picked her up and gave her ride to the baptism. We had a good visit with her on the drive and she came to church again on Sunday. She seemed pretty comfortable and self assured with all that was going on and participated in the Gospel Principles class. 

In addition another lady, a single mom and her two children, also came to Church. The people that attend our little branch are pretty spread out in terms of where they live. For example, this new single mom investigator would have had to drive about 40 minutes to get to Church. Because the branch covers such a large area, many of the children and youth in the branch attend different schools. So the likelihood that a person would show up to the branch with children and that their children would know someone in the branch is not great. However, in this case, this lady’s son (age 11), and daughter (age 13), both knew youth in the branch their age. The youth in the branch were very good to befriend them, and take them under their wing, so to speak. After Sacrament Meeting, the mother was ready to leave because she had left a dog in their house, and she was concerned he would make a mess while they were gone. However the youth in the branch talked the mother into letting her children stay. We promised the mother that we would get rides home for the children and so she let them stay for the remaining two hours. I thought that was pretty good that the mother was that trusting of people she didn’t know. I am thinking this maybe was not all a coincidence and the Lord had a hand in what transpired.
