"He is the Gift" - Hand Out the Cards

I find that while I have now lived a number of years, I am still slowly learning line upon line and precept upon precept. Sister Anderson seems to talk to just about everyone who comes in close proximity to her. So what I am learning is that all we really need to do is find situations where there will be people in close proximity and she will likely talk to them and possibly share something about the Restored Gospel with them. That is exactly in line with what the missionaries are admonished to do, talk to as many people as you can.

Last week as we traveled to the neighboring city of Prescott, I saw a sign that was advertising a Christmas House tour. I had the impression at the time, that maybe it was something we should try to attend. As we asked around about the tour we learned that it was to raise money for the Library and it consisted of three houses that were decorated up for Christmas. I mentioned to Sister Anderson that this might be an opportunity to meet people and hand out “He is the Gift” cards. The admission price for the tour was $5.00, I figured that since we paid money to see their houses they would all take the cards. We met a number of people, all very kind and gracious. We also met the Mayor of Prescott, who invited us to come and see him. He is currently visiting with the young Elders so we wanted to meet him. Sister Anderson handed out 22 “He is the Gift" cards. I believe we might be able to go back to each of those 3 houses in the future. Most of the people we met attend the Methodist church in that town. We are finding that in these little towns, the local churches are a major part of the communities and provide a vehicle for people to socialize with one another. Not unlike our own traditions.
